Campbell’s House
has recently undergone an extensive renovation to create a very private
and extremely comfortable family home with full modern facilities.
From the moment you walk into the bright and inviting hallway with
minstrel’s gallery and oak stairway, you will realise that the
house has been designed to retain a traditional look with high quality,
modern comforts.
The large family kitchen/dining room with walk-in pantry and large
utility room befits a family home, even for a short stay. The large
open plan living area at the front of the house has been simply and
tastefully decorated to maximise the unique view from the windows.
Ideal for anyone that likes looking at boats!
Upstairs, a large and bright landing (complete with reading corner)
leads to three bedrooms (two with queen-sized beds, one with two singles),
all of a substantial size. Each room has been simply decorated to
maximize space and to ensure that all guests have a comfortable stay.
Whether you are looking for a relaxing holiday doing very little,
or want to use it as a base for exploring Wester Ross and Skye, the
area has much to offer everyone. Many of the rooms have superb views
across the water to Plockton and beyond, over to the Cuillins on Skye
and the Applecross Mountains across Loch Carron.
Campbell’s House is ideally located across Plockton Bay in Duncraig,
just a mere five minutes drive or a short boat ride from the village
(small boats can be rented from the village). There is also a beautiful
National Trust walk around the head of the bay, enabling you to walk
into Plockton in around 30–40 minutes. Alternatively, you could
stop the train at our very own Duncraig request stop! Note that this
train
runs between Inverness and Kyle of Lochalsh: good for a day trip.
