16 March 2003	Official opening of the outdoor bowling green
The official opening of the outdoor bowling green has been set for Saturday 12 April at 13:00. It is to be opened by Councillor Bis Campbell, Glenshiel. An invitation is being extended to the other teams in the South Skye League namely Kintail, Kyleakin, Lochalsh, Lochcarron and Sleat to take part in a pairs competition to commemorate the opening.
Green fees have been set at £30 annually for Adults and £15 for Juniors (18 and under).
Competitions will be played throughout the year and to date we have been presented with three trophies. Two generously presented by Lochalsh and Skye Housing Association, to be played as a singles competition for both Adults and Juniors, and to be open to all throughout our area. The other beautiful trophy received was presented by Jill James and her sister Judith Webster. This handsome trophy is to be played as a pairs competition and is called the Osborne Cup in memory of their father. Jill's husband Alan is captain of the club.
