FMD Numbers Ease Off

On Thursday 3 May, there were 1540 cases of FMD in the UK. 2,411,000 animals have been slaughtered, and 107,000 were awaiting slaughter. But there only two new cases confirmed, and in the week ending 29 April, the daily average of new cases dropped from 16 to 11. The trend is definitely down, but not finished, and there will sporadic outbreaks, probably well into August, even after days without any new cases.
