Jewel of the Highlands

What To Do

Plockton has a great variety of activities suitable for young or old. One of the classic trips is to visit the seals in the bay on Calum's seal trips. This takes you to the islands around Loch Carron on the Sula Mhor to see the lovely common seals.

If you want to get closer to the water a day spent sea kayaking with Sea Kayak Plockton is highly recommended. Suitable for beginners, trips around the bay and visits to coral islands by sea kayak are a fantastic fun.

Plockton is famous for its sailing and the Plockton Small Boat Sailing Club (PSBSC) is a very active group. They hold regular teaching sessions and social events in the village. The highlight of the year is the two weeks of the summer regatta in late July.

The west coast of Scotland around Plockton has some fabulous walks ranging from gentle coastal rambles to mountainering expeditions in the Cuillins of Skye. Apart from walking, mountain biking in the area is becoming very popular with challenging trails through remote and wild landscapes.

If you would like a tour of Skye or Lochalsh by taxi or mini-van then Skye Magical Tours can assist you. Popular destinations include the Fairy Pools on Skye, Talisker Distillery and Eilean Donan Castle.

Finally if romance is in the air why not get married in the beautiful setting of Plockton. All arrangements can be made locally from a ceremony on a boat, in the village church or the village hall. Plockton is a great place to make an unforgettable day for a wedding.
